BIO
Mexican born, Melbourne based guitarist /producer Paul Michel explores the sounds of neo psychedelia, funkadelia, latin beats and dream pop. Paul Michel’s love for music extends to other visual expressions, such as lighting and video
making.
'Dust' is his first album for his project ‘Walls and Waves’ , this album embodies Michel’s intimate world, exploring the feelings that arose in lockdown in a new city as a member of the Latino diaspora, and the discovery of a unique and authentic sound, with influences as diverse as La Priest, MGMT, Radiohead and Mexico’s very
own Jose Jose.
Infact, Michel's on an ongoing journey of finding the connection between his music
taste in English, and his deep love for his Mexican roots, and the iconic and incomparable music scene that life in Mexico immerses you in. Living 1000’s of miles away from home only made him appreciate the unique guitar rhythms of Mexican music and legendary artists such as 'Jose Jose' and 'Juan Gabriel' all the
more.
Paul is involved with two additional immensely contrasting projects, Mexican psychedelic rock band Modern Vice, and The Omega Point, a Melbourne based music/ art project which fuses electronic music with performative storytelling, and video making, founded with his wife Alexandra Moon.
